Family Wealth Succession Planning
At Traditions, we believe family wealth succession requires more than leaving behind money and possessions. It should also include values, principles, memories, and life lessons for loved ones to cherish. We believe both tangible assets (money) as well as the intangible assets (principles, values, etc.) are both important ingredients for a thoughtful wealth succession plan.
Family Mission Statement
We view families as the most important organization in the world. Most successful organizations have some type of mission statement. We want our families to be just as successful as any organization. We help families develop their own mission statement by identifying their core values and principles as a collective family unit.
Family Constitution
The US constitution is proof that a document can create unity, belonging, and have an infinite life. Families can also create their own constitution. It only requires a commitment to a family philosophy, conduct, or a standard for current and future family generations to follow
The Family Story
Stories are powerful, though sometimes the details can get lost when they are told from one person to the next. We help families document their story to maintain the accuracy of key family events. Stories provide a direct connection between the storyteller and future family generations.
“It requires a great deal of boldness and a great deal of caution to make a great fortune; and when you have got it, it requires ten times as much wit to keep it”
- Nathan Mayer Rothschild
